Owner-Occupier

A loan for your own home — priced lower than investment loans.

What is Owner-Occupier?

An owner-occupier loan is a home loan for a property you'll live in as your principal residence — not rent out. Owner-occupier loans typically carry lower rates (0.10–0.30%) than investor loans, and different LMI treatment.

Why it matters for you

Using an owner-occupier loan for an investment purchase is a serious breach — both of loan contract and potentially tax law. If your situation changes (move overseas for work, start renting out), notify your lender and reset the loan classification. We help clients manage these transitions cleanly.
