LVR (Loan-to-Value Ratio)

Your loan as a percentage of your property value.

What is LVR?

LVR (Loan-to-Value Ratio) is your loan amount as a percentage of your property's value. An $800K loan on a $1M property = 80% LVR. LVR is the single biggest driver of home loan pricing, LMI requirements, and policy eligibility.

Why it matters for you

Below 60% LVR: cheapest rates, all products available. 60–80%: standard rates, all products. 80–90%: LMI applies (or waived under medico policy), slightly higher rates on some products. 90–95%: significant LMI, policy exceptions required. Above 95%: very few lenders.
