ACR (Authorised Credit Representative)

A broker operating under someone else's credit licence — Australia's standard structure.

What is ACR?

An Authorised Credit Representative is a business or individual authorised to engage in credit activities under another company's Australian Credit Licence. It's the standard licensing structure for most mortgage brokers in Australia.

How it works in practice

The licensee (ACL holder) is responsible for the ACR's conduct, training and compliance. ACRs must be registered with ASIC and appear on the public register. Wity (ACR 508333) operates under NF84 Pty Ltd's ACL (531736).

Why it matters for you

An ACR arrangement doesn't make a broker "lesser" than a direct ACL holder — it's how the industry is structured. What matters is that the structure is properly registered and the licensee takes compliance seriously.
